University Autonomy at Public Universities in Vietnam: Current Situation and Solutions

University autonomy is an important aspect of the higher education reform process in Vietnam, aiming to meet societal needs and promote international integration. It has been implemented in Vietnamese higher education for over two decades, alongside the establishment and development of professional management. University autonomy is currently being actively implemented in Vietnam through various mechanisms and policies, particularly in terms of financial autonomy. This research article examines the current situation of university autonomy in public universities in Vietnam, highlighting the challenges faced during its implementation and proposing solutions to enhance the autonomy of public universities in Vietnam in the future.
