Abstract:
This review paper explores the transformative potential of nanomaterials in healthcare supply chain management and drug delivery systems. It delves into the historical evolution of drug delivery mechanisms and the emergence of nanotechnology as a pivotal innovation. The paper categorizes various nanomaterials, elucidating their mechanisms of action, including enhanced targeting and controlled release, which surpass the capabilities of traditional drug delivery systems. It critically analyzes the impact of nanomaterials on healthcare supply chain efficiency, regulatory and ethical considerations, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness. The paper identifies barriers to implementation and proposes future research directions to navigate these challenges. Ultimately, it underscores the significance of nanomaterials in advancing healthcare delivery, promising improved patient outcomes and system efficiency.
