Abstract:

The research topic is entitled “Assessing effects of financial management practices on business growth, a case study of small and medium enterprises in the manufacturing sector in Lusaka. The Researcher has seen a gap in the knowledge of financial practices and tools used by SME owners.

There is a noticeable inefficiency of workshops and trainings which has contributed to not utilizing financial management practices effectively and in the required manner.

However, the small and medium enterprises in the manufacturing sector continue to embrace the embraced basic financial practices, significant gaps remain in the adoption of advanced tools, regulatory compliance, and access to professional financial support. These gaps, if addressed, could significantly improve SME performance and contribute to Zambia’s economic development.

The researcher identified Key words, financial Management Practices and their effects, and stated the constraints and attainments with sustainable growth to the study discussed. The findings will give way to recommendations which will be used by other Researchers to build Theories that associate financial Management practices and their effects to small and medium enterprises in the manufacturing sector.
