Reception and Integration of Internally Displaced Persons of the NWSW Crisis in the Town of Ngaoundere

Abstract:

This study examines the process of social integration of internally displaced persons (IDPs) of the North West and South West (NWSW) region in the town of Ngaoundere-Cameroon. The main objective of our research is to find out how the integration of the IDPs from NWSW region has being carried out in the locality of Ngaoundere. Our research is carried out using a qualitative approach with five persons as our target population in Ngaoundere which is our area of study. The results of our research shows that security conditions, family support and psychological impact all play important roles in the integration of IDPs in Ngaoundere, but also additional factors could also influence these processes. Our research lays more emphasis on the influence of family members, security which has cause lots of people to relocate to a new environment and psychological factors being a barrier for integration. Our work concludes as we provide certain recommendations for our study, such as the creation of psychosocial support programs, balance in educational system for students, and so on. We hope this work contributes to improve the wellbeing of the IDPs in the town of Ngaoundere.
