The Role of Financial Technology (Fintech, Blockchain) in Promoting Green Finance

Along with the development of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (Industry 4.0), more and more consumers are using Fintech products and services. The term “Fintech” is used for all businesses using the internet, mobile phones, cloud computing technology and open-source software to improve the efficiency of banking and investment activities. The emergence of Fintech has changed the face of the financial services industry with advantages in speed, simplicity, efficiency, security, privacy and potential. This has allowed Fintechs to share more with customers, giving them control and decision-making power in financial transactions and investment activities. This article provides an overview of the current state of Fintech in Vietnam, from which to make some recommendations to government agencies, especially the State Bank, regarding the development of Fintech in Vietnam.
