Abstract:
Life cycle is a vital cycle of a woman's reproductive health and development, an indicator of a woman's health and overall psycho-emotional health, but in modern society its significance is still shaped by stigma, information gaps and unequal access to healthcare and hygiene measures. The life cycle of a modern woman typically encompasses childhood, where she focuses on development and education; adolescence, characterized by identity exploration and social relationships; early adulthood, which involves pursuing higher education or a career and possibly starting a family; adulthood, marked by career advancement and parenting; middle age, where she may reassess life goals while caring for aging parents; and later life, spent enjoying retirement, pursuing interests, and reflecting on her experiences. Each stage varies based on personal choices and cultural influences. The aim of this study is to summarize the latest scientific data from the literature on the importance of menstruation in a woman's life cycle, assessing biological, psychological and social factors and revealing changes over the past 30 years. A search for publications was carried out in international databases (e.g., PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science), selecting works that examine the impact of menstruation on quality-of-life cycle, daily functioning, mental health and accessibility of health services.
