Maritime Zone’s Delimitation in Local Regulations of Aceh Province, Indonesia
Author(s): Fikri, Arnita, Mahfud
Abstract:
The Aceh government uses the word coastline in regulations related to the authority to manage natural resources at sea, whereas in marine law provisions, this term is not known. The law of the sea uses the term baseline. The use of the word "coastline" in regional regulations is not only not by the method that has been implemented in general but also detrimental to the region itself because there is a sea zone which should still be a district/city or province that uses the word baseline, but cannot into the district/city if using the word coastline. Therefore, the Aceh Government should replace the word “coastline” with “baseline” in its regional regulations for determining the boundaries of its maritime zone.
