Abstract:

This study focuses on the design and development of an online school staff appointment system, using Pemba Secondary School in Pemba District, Southern Province, as a case study. The objective was to develop a system that allows parents and students to easily book appointments with school staff online, reducing misunderstandings and improving communication efficiency. The study investigates the effects of the system on parents, students, and staff, as well as the implementation process and its impact on the school's administrative workflow. The research employed both qualitative and quantitative methods, including surveys, interviews, and statistical analysis, to assess the opinions and experiences of school staff, students, and parents. Findings revealed overwhelming support for the system, with 89% of respondents endorsing its design and 84% indicating that it positively impacts parent-student-school staff interactions. The system was found to improve accessibility, reduce appointment-related costs, and enhance the commitment and professionalism of school staff.

Furthermore, the study highlighted the importance of system implementation and user training, with 90% of respondents recognizing the need for proper testing and adaptation. The findings suggest that the online appointment system could significantly streamline administrative processes, improve parental involvement in students’ education, and foster better communication within the school environment.
