Sustaining Tourism Activities Amidst Economic and Legal Battles in Nigeria: Review of Literature

Abstract:
Tourism, a notable catalyst for economic development and cross-cultural interaction encounters unparralleled obstacles in places characterized by political and legal conflict, this can be seen practically in Nigeria. This study shows the interrelationship between political stability, legislative framework and the tourism sector. This study shows aims to show the negative effect of legal and poltitical instability on the nation’s economic growth and stability, which in turn has dire consequencies on the tourism sector of the country. The data used for this study was majorly sourced from related articles and also from news outlets online which talks about the current political and legal battles going on in Nigeria. The findings of this study together with the recommendations provided gives a significant insight for the government which serves as a policymaker and also to industry stakeholders who want to promote sustainable tourism in the face of these challenges.
