Abstract:

The rapid advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming industries, including maintenance engineering. AI technologies, such as predictive analytics, machine learning, and autonomous systems, are revolutionizing maintenance practices by enabling more efficient and cost-effective asset management. As these technologies evolve, there is an increasing need to integrate AI into maintenance engineering education. This integration offers an opportunity to update curricula and equip future engineers with the necessary skills for the evolving technological landscape. This study uses a qualitative approach, including a review of literature and interviews with academic experts and industry professionals. The aim is to explore the benefits of incorporating AI into maintenance engineering education, particularly in enhancing problem-solving skills, fostering critical thinking, and simulating real-world maintenance scenarios. The study also examines the challenges institutions face in adopting AI-driven educational models, such as the need for specialized faculty, limited resources, and adapting traditional teaching methods to new technologies. findings suggest that integrating AI into education could improve practical skills, problem-solving abilities, and understanding of real-world maintenance scenarios. However, challenges are expected, such as faculty shortages, resource constraints, and difficulties in updating curricula. The study emphasizes the importance of collaboration between academia and industry to ensure that maintenance engineering education evolves with technological advancements and adequately prepares students for future demands in the field.
