The Settlement of Village Border’s Dispute by the Local Government of Aceh Besar

Article 4, paragraph (2), letter c of Minister of Home Affairs Regulation No. 45/2016 has ruled Guidelines for the Establishment and Affirmation of Village Boundaries (Permendagri Guidelines PPBDes). The Aceh Besar District Land Office is empowered to adjudicate village boundary disputes under Minister of Home Affairs Regulation No. 45/2016 concerning Guidelines for the Establishment and Affirmation of Village Boundaries (Permendagri Guidelines for PPBDes) and Aceh Besar Regent Regulation No. 48 of 2017 regarding the Position, Organisational Structure, Duties and Functions, and Work Procedures of the Aceh Besar District Land Office. The Aceh Besar District Government has failed to offer legal clarity for the contending parties, as it has not exercised its jurisdiction in resolving village boundary disputes in Kemukiman Siem, Aceh Besar District. The research methodology employed in the formulation of this study is the Empirical Juridical research method. This research aims to elucidate the resolution of village boundary disputes managed by the Regional Government of Aceh Besar Regency. The Aceh Besar District Government resolves village boundary disputes via the Aceh Besar District Land Office. The resolution of village boundary disputes by the Aceh Besar District Government is underpinned by a definitive and robust legal framework, ensuring comprehensive accountability for addressing such conflicts within Aceh Besar District, especially in Kemukiman Siem.
