Abstract:
Multinational corporations (MNCs) operate across diverse regulatory environments, facing complex and often fragmented legal and compliance requirements. Ensuring consistent regulatory compliance poses significant challenges due to varying jurisdictional standards, cultural differences, and operational structures. This proposes a conceptual framework designed to enhance regulatory compliance through strategic auditing practices within MNCs. The framework integrates key components including compliance risk assessment, integrated audit systems, internal control mechanisms, standardized reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives. Emphasizing a risk-based audit approach, the framework advocates for the use of advanced digital technologies such as real-time data analytics, compliance dashboards, and automated reporting systems to enable proactive compliance management. Furthermore, it highlights the importance of centralized oversight balanced with localized adaptability, ensuring that regulatory requirements in each operational jurisdiction are met without compromising global consistency. Governance structures are reinforced through cross-functional teams and continuous training programs aimed at cultivating a strong compliance culture across the organization. By systematically aligning auditing functions with regulatory expectations, the proposed framework not only enhances the effectiveness of compliance strategies but also strengthens corporate transparency, reduces legal exposure, and fosters stakeholder trust. This contributes to the growing body of knowledge on corporate governance in global contexts by offering a structured and adaptable model tailored to the complexities of multinational operations. The findings underscore the critical role of auditing as both a monitoring and strategic tool for navigating the global regulatory landscape. The framework also serves as a foundation for future research and practical implementation, providing MNCs with a roadmap for developing resilient and sustainable compliance systems in an era of increasing regulatory scrutiny and ethical expectations.
