Author(s): Kunavathi A/P Kumaran, Chuan Hui Foo
Abstract:
Traditional and uninspiring teaching methods have contributed to students' lack of interest in Mathematics and have hindered teachers' ability to effectively teach the subject. This study focuses on developing the Transformation Board as a teaching aid for the topic of Isometric Transformation for high school students. The primary objective is to create a Transformation Board with satisfactory validity. The development process follows the ADDIE model and adopts a quantitative research approach. To ensure validity, the study engaged three experts: Two Mathematics lecturers from Sultan Idris Education University and a Mathematics teacher with over 10 years of teaching experience. Data were collected using a questionnaire, specifically the Transformation Board Validity Questionnaire. The findings reveal that the teaching aid achieved high validity, with a Content Validity Index (CVI) score of 1.00. Based on these results, the Transformation Board is deemed effective in achieving learning objectives. Additionally, it has the potential to enhance student performance and foster greater interest in learning. Overall, the Transformation Board positively impacts both students and teachers, and it is hoped that its development will help Mathematics teachers diversify teaching strategies and improve learning outcomes.
