Abstract:

The swift growth of renewable energy projects, especially those involving wind, solar, and hydropower, in developing nations offers substantial prospects for sustainable growth. Nevertheless, this expansion frequently surpasses the development of legal and regulatory structures, resulting in environmental deterioration, social disputes, and difficulties with governance. This study looks at the legal frameworks required to manage the environmental implications of renewable energy projects in emerging markets, with a particular focus on the compliance gaps in environmental rules. Through a thorough examination of case studies, policy evaluations, and current literature, the report pinpoints important regulatory flaws and suggests workable solutions to improve sustainability and compliance. In order to ensure a fair and inclusive energy transition, the findings highlight the necessity of integrated legislative methods that strike a balance between environmental preservation and energy development.
