Non Performing Assets of Indian Commercial Banks: A Study

Banking industry is the backbone of our economy and playing a crucial role for the development of the nation. This industry is experiencing significant difficulties due to rise of Non-Performing Assets (NPAs). The increase in NPAs has a direct influence on bank’s profitability. A high degree of NPAs indicate a high possibility of credit defaults. This paper is an attempt to study Non-Performing Assets status, impact and trends of NPAs in Indian scheduled commercial banks.
